We’re All Gonna Die: Oxycholesterol
In teh world of avoiding trans fats, regular fat, calories, cholesterol, and any other killer of the year, scientists have surmised that it is “Oxycholesterol” that is the biggest risk to heart disease.
While we have heard of LDL cholesterol, better known as “bad cholesterol”, probably as young as sitting at your preschool furniture, and that high cholesterol levels are inherently bad – oxycholesterol is relatively unknown and is believed to be the most serious cardiovascular health threat.
Scientists from China presented one of the first studies on the cholesterol-boosting effects of oxycholesterol at the 238th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society. The researchers hope their findings raise public awareness about oxycholesterol, including foods with the highest levels of the substance and other foods that can combat oxycholesterol’s effects.
“Total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), and the heart-healthy high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) are still important health issues,” says study leader Zhen-Yu Chen, Ph.D., of Chinese University of Hong Kong. “But the public should recognize that oxycholesterol is also important and cannot be ignored. Our work demonstrated that oxycholesterol boosts total cholesterol levels and promotes atherosclerosis ["hardening of the arteries"] more than non-oxidized cholesterol.”
Fried and processed food, particularly fast-food, contains high amounts of oxycholesterol. Avoiding these foods and eating a diet that is rich in antioxidants, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, may help reduce its levels in the body, the researchers note.
So…basically do what they have always told you. Don’t eat fried garbage, greasy hamburgers, and eat your fruits and vegetables to avoid this stuff.

what if you never eat junk food or fried food of any type
and your cholesterol is still high,then what i will do is
blame the food industry for adding all those chemcials
into the foods we eat so that we can be de-populated
with ease,now you clowns come up with another scare scheme “OXYCHOLESTEROL”……..i have enough sense to know that low cholesterol is just as deadly as having it to high my level is 235 no high blood pressure,haven’t had a cold since 1979 look much younger than my age,aging process has almost stopped,i could pass for a 25 year old male with salt & pepper hair…….cholesterol is design to replace dead cell in/on your body,heck this might be the fountain of youth…….”cause i ain’t no spring chicken” holler if u hear me…..
