Sell it. Are you Crazy Digg?

Rumors going around lately, again, like they always are when it comes to Digg, saying that they are looking to get paid by someone like Microsoft or Google. Supposedly they came uout and denied the bidding war and will not be “selling out” to corporate overlords.

Arrington said Google, Microsoft, and two media companies may be preparing to make an offer on Digg. He places a possible value on the deal in the range of $200 million to $225 million.

Surely a few other perks like cheap flights or something would be thrown in, but why is it that they say they aren’t going to sell?

The users…LOL

Are you kidding me? Digg is a simple software package that has been copied a million times over. The users crying about being sold out to a corporate machine is ludicrous. Yes…the whiney Apple loving, Christian hating, Google loving, Obamanics who will jump off of buildings if anyone decides to get paid for their work.

Newsflash. Once Digg sells and these guys collect a huge amount of cash from their corporate overlords very little is going to change unless all the babies are going to leave. The site is still going to be spammed with blog posts so that whoever wrote it can get a ton of traffic, people are going to whine about the Evil Microsoft, Google will be seen as a hero whether they are basically just like Microsoft or not. The internet will have another home for these people within an hour and they can migrate to there (They already infest Youtube and every other “news” site). Life is tough kiddies. Your free amusement on Digg may no longer be owned by some dudes like you that just happened to strike gold.

Take the money and run. Internet users are going to survive, and bow to the corporate overlords when they buy it anyways because they don’t have anywhere else to go yet.
