CNET Networks’ TechRepublic runs a regular series called “Cracking Open” in which it takes a look inside a variety of gadgets. This week they are taking a look at the XBox 360 Elite

Unlike the Wii, which feels more like exercise equipment, than a gaming console to me, the 360 is an amazing piece of machinery for gaming. That article is pretty interesting if you want to understand the nuts and bolts of the machine that plays the games. Plenty of pictures, an info there that I won’t rehash here.
