The Universe on The History Channel Season 2
Imagine my surprise when I saw a commercial for The Universe last week considering I didn’t realize this show was going to be an ongoing series. I thought it was a one time thing with about 15 episodes and never to be seen again. It is not! Season 2 started yesterday and I was quite happy to see it will continue. This is by far my favorite show on TV now, and really my only “can’t miss” show other than say…South Park.
So far it appears that they only have 3 episodes listed in the upcoming season so far. Alien Planets, which was on yesterday. That show was about the possibility of life on planets outside our solar system. No…not those stupid movie aliens that want to give you a free colon cleanse when they take you for a ride on their UFO. The more traditional explanation of possible like as in one-celled organisms, and much earlier life that isn’t as advanced as we are yet.
Cosmic Holes looks like another episode. The mysterious Black Holes that everyone is so interested in. Wormholes, and something I had never heard of before: White Holes. White Holes they say are the reverse of black holes; instead of matter being sucked into it, matter is ejected out. Now that is fascinating.
The only other show it looks like is on the schedule at this point is the Mysteries of the Moon. Not real excited about that one as they have done a similar episode on last season, and I expect to see a lot of rehash from that one, but I’m sure there will be some extras we haven’t seen yet.
The show itself is on Tuesdays at 9 PM ET on The History Channel every week as far as I know. It is replayed many times as well and the link at the top I gave shows the schedule. So glad this show is on another season. I love it!
