ChaCha is absolutely a scam! I honestly think that the people giving positive reviews on it are paid to do so. You sign up, start working and everything seems to be going along good. I lost my job recently, then I found a post about ChaCha on Yahoo. I worked about 6 hours a day everyday and got my account earnings up to $180.23. Then this morning, I recieved a two-line email stating my account has been deactivated for fraudulent activity. I don't even know what fraudulent activity is or why that would happen! I don't know what I did wrong, when I did something wrong, I'm so confused. I was excited about ChaCha and I liked it so I was in tears and felt totally humiliated because I had to go back and tell my friends and family that yeah, I got scammed. After I talked so much about the company. I emailed them, called them because I want the $180 that I worked hours and hours for, they don't answer you. There's no way to get in contact with this company once you have been deactivated. And I'm not the only one this has happened to. If you google it, you can see that there are tons of people who have randomly been deactivated with little or no explanation. I'm really upset about losing that amount of money. Basically, you're working for free for this place. I never recieved one penny for the 180,000 questions I answered. Please don't bother wasting your time with ChaCha! You'll think things are moving along great and then they hit you out of nowhere with a random deactivation. All you ChaCha cheerleaders, this WILL happen to you! Don't think it won't!

Tisha,
You are most likely a vetter. Which would mean you were makeing 1 cent per question. You also should not have been doing it for points.
I recieved an email today saying I have been deactivated temporarily. I try and pick the best answers everytime, and I had $158 in my account. Payday is conveniently tomorrow and I was counting on the money to pay for my sons school pictures. Im very worried that I wont get it and I did nothing wrong.

I have been working as a ChaCha expeditor guide for about a month now and have earned 1502 points. My statement, however, says that I have earned $1.00 so far.. If this is true, I will have made less than 0.001 for each question I answered, which took me well over 4 hours(off and on). Someone please explain why I have been completely lied to? :(

I have been a guide for 2 months and I make awesome money! All these people that are saying that it is a scam have obviously not read what they signed and obviously are doing something wrong. I have been below the 95% a week quality on several occasions and guess what I am still here! ChaCha is a great job for stay at home moms or people that want to make extra money! If it is not for you that is fine don't bash a job just because you dont like it. this may be the only opportunity for some people to work right now or at all period! I will be enjoying my money while you people continue to whine and complain

ChaCha isn't a scam but it is a waste. I worked several hours a day for a few days and made about 40 bucks, maybe. Questions were back to back and I had to answer stuff like, "How do you rape someone? Where do you buy drugs? How much is an ounce of coke worth? Should I kick a kitten in the head? Can you give me directions from Maryland to Ohio?" It's such a stupid little job, no one should do it for the measly 20 cents that they pay. Then I received an email yesterday saying my account is being deactivated because my quality of answers are not good enough. Maybe the quality of questions are not good enough, ChaCha! I have no idea if I will get my lousy pay or not.

The people who make up the ChaCha guide community are there by choice! We, and I say this as someone who's been a guide for 2 1/2 years, get to choose when we work and when we get paid.

ChaCha contracts to pay the price of their choosing for each questions you complete. They are offering a price and it's up to the guide if they want to work for that price. Like any business they are looking for the lowest price that meets their needs. In the current economy that means they can, and have, lower the average price they pay per answer. NO different that the UAW auto worker who are taking wage cuts to keep their jobs.

ChaCha has paid every dime that was legitimately earned by a guide. If you got caught gaming the system (cheating) you were deactivated, (fired). If someone disagreed with that action the guide agreement give them the right to have it arbitrated, by a neutral party, under the BBB Arbitration Program.

I have been having real issues with working at ChaCha and feel like I am scammed. I work as an expeditor and it is starting to feel like this job is not worth the lame pay. I worked for 2 hours. It was busy I didn't have down time and I made $3. That is not worth my time at all. I haven't logged in for over a month and probably won't again. ChaCha is a scam and as they keep changing things they will eventually get rid of the guide role all together and have nothing but form answers. Those who say they have made good money only have done so as a guide and soon their job will be wiped out, so don't listen to them. ChaCha is a scam - they keep adding to the job duties of certain positions and paying less. ChaCha is not worth your time if you want to make money.

This is insanity. ChaCha is not a scam. I have been a Guide since early November, 2008 and I have made well over $200, and I have gotten PAID, as in, I have used the money to buy things. You get paid by how many questions you answer, there is no set time or schedule, and you can do it whenever you feel like it. There is a $2 fee for the Pay me Now option because it's pure convenience, in what regular job can you tell the boss "Okay, give me my money RIGHT NOW!". If you check the ChaCha forums, you will see that basically nobody cares about the fee, if you make a bunch of money $2.00 is nothing. I couldn't care less where that $2.00 goes to. And there is no fee for the Pay me monthly option. I love ChaCha, and so do all it's workers. Become educated before you write a bullcrap article on something you know nothing about.

Yes, ChaCha is a waste of time-that's why I have made 3,000 in 3 months as a ChaCha guide. BTW, you can use pay me monthly to bypass the $2.00 fee. Works like a charm!
