Technorati Favorites
Seems like most people totally ignore the Technorati favorites add buttons on most sites. Technorati is like anything else on the web where if people vote for you, you get a little bit more exposure. Most Technorati users don’t seem to use, nor promote the feature of having their readers add their blogs to Technorati Favorites. I don’t really bother with it normally either as I only have a couple of blogs listed in my favorites, and one of them is mine.
Well I’m going to try a little experiment and promote my Technorati Favorites badge a little bit and see what kind of response I get. Just like on MyBlogLog and Spicy Page, Technorati favorites show up on the particular blog you favorited. So when someone is looking at their stats they can see which blogs favorited them on Technorati. So…after you favorite my blogs I will see your name as someone who has favorited me, and in turn I will add you to my favorites. I want to know who is reading as much as the next guy and having a list of you that have favorited me will give me a little bit more information to cater my content. At the same time I can favorite you and make you just a little bit more popular in the Technorati community. Even if it only gets you a few extra hits, you never know if that hit is going to click an ad, or make you some other money. So let’s give it a shot. Add me to your favorites and I will start to add you:
The Social Bookmarking Plugin at the bottom of my posts also lets you easily add me to your Technorati Favorites as well as many other places to submit articles. This is a great plugin to get you a bit more exposure as well. Along my sidebar under the Subscribe section you can also add me to Technorati as a Favorite as well as subscribe to my RSS feed in AOL, Google, Yahoo!, or any feed reader you use. Hey . . this is a great idea to get more faves on Technorati. Much like how John Chow gives you a link for reviewing his site. I wish I knew what was the worth of a technorati fave though
You know I don’t think much of the worth of getting faved on Technorati. I just kind of did this as an experiment and update it when I get a chance to look at who added me. I really wouldn’t put too much effort into it unless someone can convince me that there are serious benefits to getting a certain level of favoritism over there.
