How to Remove Rinbot

I’ve been seeing a lot of hits coming in from Google for the short article I posted aobut Rinbot so I assumed that people may be looking for what it was, and how to remove it. This is something I should have covered in my article RINBOT or DELBOT virus are starting to multiply rapidly.

I was interested in the process as well so I started to do a bit of digging and found some information on how to remove it as well as a forum for spyware removal. Here is a quote from Spyware.com which explains what Rinbot is:

Rinbot is a worm that spreads through network shares protected by weak passwords. It can also propagate by exploiting remote security vulnerabilities of Symantec and Microsoft software. Once installed, the parasite runs a payload. It opens a back door providing the attacker with unauthorized remote access to the compromised computer. The intruder can download and execute files, gather system and network information, steal CD keys for certain computer games, perform Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and update the worm. Rinbot can also run hidden proxies, web and FTP servers. The parasite runs on every Windows startup.
